Three days of festivities - Anniversaries July 6 & Inauguration Church St. Spyridon
Anniversaries of historical significance on 6 July 1850 and the inauguration of the Church of St. Spyridon celebrate Elafonisiotes, guests and friends Elafonisou, the weekend of 6 to 9 July, each time.
It is a historical and religious celebration with strong social and cultural character. The festivities begin on the morning of the 6th with the joyous bells of the church and start flagging the general public, municipal buildings, private shops and houses that lasts until the twilight of July 9.
On this day the honor Elafonisiotes Mani for their contribution to the liberation of Elafonisou symbolically in 6 July 1850, but mostly their Elafonisiotes that since then labors and sacrifices fighting to protect the site, which today stands out as a special tourist destination as a place with great advantages and unique culture and tradition.
On the same day July 9th, We honor and celebrate the religious occasion of the inauguration of the Church of St. Spyridon, which is inextricably linked to the recent history of Elafonisou. The celebration usually ends the evening of the 9th with local cultural events, made traditionally in square harbor.

Feast of Our Lady of Katonisiotissas
Every year on 15 August, in Lower Island, at the Church of Our Lady of Katonisiotissas and immediately after the commission of the Divine Liturgy performed large folk festival in celebration of the Assumption. The same evening the celebration continues with the presentation of traditional dances from the dance group Women's Elafonisou, and the traditional dance of the children of the place. On the eve of the Virgin Katonisiotisses arrange for cleaning and freshening Church. On the eve of the evening gathered at the temple for overnight. Custom feature is the clustering of young Eve night in Panagia beach. Children bonfires, dance and sing until dawn.

Feast of the Fishermen
The traditional event of historic Fisherman's Association Elafonisou "Elaphonisos», held each year last ten days of Augustu, the square of the port of Elafonisou. Crowds of people responding to the call of the fishermen and visiting the beautiful Lafonisi, specifically for this festival. The evening includes island dances with live music, plenty of wine and of course fresh fish, offer of fisherman's place. Often the festival is accompanied by individual events with the aim of maximizing the return of naval tradition of the island, View as archival photographs of Association etc.. Rightly the Fisherman's Festival is one of the major social - cultural events Elafonisou, characterized, as one of the most authentic traditional events in the Peloponnese.
The festival, institution no longer on the island with the largest fishing fleet in Laconia, honor with their presence every year official guests and people from the world of shipping and the sea.
